The Baptismal Regeneration/Believer’s Debate by J.O. Hosler

John Hosler has done the student of Scripture a great service in writing this well-documented, thoroughly biblical book dealing with baptismal regeneration. I know of no other volume that puts so many issues, related to this subject, on the table for careful examination. From infant baptism to proselyte baptism; from the Qumran sect to the Church Fathers; from the Reformers to modern theologians, Hosler carefully develops his subject and marches steadily to the scriptural conclusion: baptism does not regenerate. In addition, every pertinent biblical passage is analyzed, for ultimately it does not matter what the theologians have taught or the creeds have stated, what matters is what God says. This is an excellent work; I recommend it highly.
